| As you sit there on the floor let yourself sink into a relaxed, floppy state. Breathe slowly and deeply and clear your mind of all concerns and worries. Pretend you have put all your worries in a deep bag and sent them to the bottom of the sea.
Think about all the forms of new life we see around us.
You see new flowers forming, new plants growing and little seedlings poking through from the earth.
Picture new kittens and puppies and little babies. They are all examples of new life.
Now imagine a huge Easter egg that is so beautiful. It is sparkling and many coloured. It is the most beautiful egg you have ever seen. This is a very special egg. Inside this egg is the new you: the person you want to become!
Imagine that you are able to start anew. You ARE able to start anew!
What will you change? What will you become?
See yourself the way you want to be. What do you look like? What are you saying? What are you doing? Who are you with?
Now see a set of steps that go up the side of the mountain. At the top of the mountain is the new you!
Look at yourself closely and feel happy that this is what you will become!
As you go up the steps you dissolve any problem that stops you becoming your new self. As you walk up the steps you become happier and happier. You feel as if you are glowing and full of love for everyone.
You have people coming up to you on the way, calling out, “YOU CAN’T CHANGE. YOU CAN’T DO THAT!” But you know you can! You are sure you can be your new self!
As you reach the very top of the mountain you see yourself glowing with happiness. You walk over to your new self and you dissolve into the new you!
You are now the new you! You are ready to begin living anew and you can now show you love and kindness to all the world. You can show your friends and family your talents and deal with all difficulties.
Open your eyes and smile. You are a bright, new shiny person!
Now you can chat to someone or write/draw about your meditation journey.
Storm Visualisation
You are walking along by the river on a cold winter’s day. There are dark clouds above you and you feel a little worried. You certainly don’t want to be caught in the rain. Should you turn back? No! This is such a good chance to get out for a long walk as you are sick of being cooped up in the house.
As you watch the river and look at the lovely tall trees, a flash comes in the sky and the dark sky is lit up by a sheet of bright light. You feel a little frightened. Will there be a thunderstorm?
A low rumble sounds behind the hills and you know a storm is approaching. You turn around to hurry home, pulling your jacket closely around you.
BANG! a crack of thunder frightens you and you hurry towards home. A large, old tree has fallen and your way is blocked. You start to shiver and you know you have to find another way home. The sky is now really, really dark and the rain is starting to fall in huge droplets. Already you can feel the water dripping down your face and dribbling under your collar. You can’t seem to find another path and the thunder and lightning is now all around you. Two more small trees crash to the ground close to you.
You huddle up into a little ball and crouch beside the large old tree and decide to wait till the storm is over. The wind is so strong and you hear it whistling all around you and the river has large waves that are breaking over the banks. You are scared and wish and pray it will soon be over.
As you crouch there you try to think of happy things to help you feel less scared-you think of cream donuts, your Mum’s smile, your nice warm bed and your favourite TV programs. You are soooooo cold but by crouching in a small ball and keeping your head down you know you are safe.
You are imagining sitting up in your cosy, warm bed with a favourite book and a nice warm snack. The raging winds and rains have died down a little but you are soaked. You look around, the black sky has begun to lighten and you can see a path that goes around the trees. You can go home! The lightning and thunder have stopped. You feel so happy! Off you go to your nice warm house and your family. You survived the storm! |
