DAY 1: EQ4U
This day is designed to give you an overview of the research and scope of Emotional Intelligence, and to help you understand the concept of emotional competencies. You will be given opportunities to review your own emotional intelligence skills- as they relate to your personal life and also as they relate to your chosen career.
DAY 2: EQ4KIDZ
The second day will focus on the content and delivery of all the modules of EQ4KIDZ. You will receive all course materials and be led through a week-by-week facilitation process.
All facilitators will receive a manual with detailed teaching notes and materials to use with children. This day will deal with all the practical considerations of the course and also help you to understand the importance of the parent information session.
The 2-day seminar will fully empower facilitators to run the course in their own schools and other educational settings.

PUPPETRY MAGIC

Children are delighted by puppets and learn to understand characters, improve their emotional intelligence and use their imaginations.
Teachers will be shown how to help children:
- Learn about characterisation by interacting with puppets and making simple plays

FAIRYTALE THERAPY
Fairytales soothe, stimulate, enthuse and lead us to a deeper understanding about ourselves.
They help both adults and children to understand their life stories and clearly chart their individual pathways.
This workshop will show you practical ways to help children:
- Develop a love of fairy tales
- Understand themselves, become more perceptive and deepen emotional intelligence
- Deepen comprehension
- Improve writing skills
Teachers will be led through a range of “hands-on” responses to fairytales and shown specific techniques to make this fascinating genre come to life for students. They will explore a range of techniques designed to deepen their responses, and help them understand the deeper significance of these old tales.
Teachers will be shown how to model and scaffold this genre so that children can successfully write their own fairytales.
All participating teachers will receive a copy of 7 fairytales re-told by Victoria Carlton, with suggested comprehension and writing strategies.
