COURSE DETAILS
The seven sessions will be held at our Bayswater Centre FROM 2-4 ON Saturday afternoons. The next available course commences on Saturday 2nd August and runs till Saturday 13th September 2008.
It is important that your child attends ALL 7 sessions to get the most out of the course.
Only trained facilitators are present and we establish a nurturing, warm environment to foster your child's EQ (Emotional Intelligence).
You will be given week by week suggestions to help you put strategies in place in the home and at the end of the course you will be given an appraisal of your child and suggestions for further improvements.

All parents of children enrolled in EQ4KIDZ are required to participate in our EQ4FAMILIES workshop. The changes that you desire in your children cannot happen just by 2 hours a week with us. It also needs positive reinforcement by you during the course. The best way to achieve this is by your attendance at the EQ4FAMILIES workshop. This workshop is run over 2 evenings and gives you many practical strategies for nurturing harmony and emotional intelligence in the home. Please call us if you have any queries about the course. We also help children with all types of learning difficulties and we find participation in this course definitely improves academic outcomes.
All children will need a folder for notes and an old shirt for art activities.
On the first day when you bring your child please be 10 minutes early, bring your child into the teaching area and leave fairly quickly so we can establish rapport with your child and acquaint them with the environment.

Calm And Learn More
The CALM program will help your child:
• be able to calm and soothe themselves when upset
• find the peaceful stillness deep inside themselves
• use their imagination to visualise peaceful and happy situations
• deal with strong feelings such as anger
• learn how to use exercises, journaling, and art to express strong feelings and stay “in touch” with themselves.
CALM children really DO learn more! They are free to be able to concentrate and give their attention 100% to their studies.
Many children are bewildered by the noise, frenetic activity and pace of modern life. The CALM course will help them feel secure, calm and happy.
This course is suitable for all children between 6 and 12. Each child must complete 10 sessions (1 hour each time) and many children will want to complete a second cycle.
When: Thursdays 3:45-4:45, or 4:45-5:45
This course will be run in "Intensive Mode" over 10 days in the January 2008 holiday and then during each term of 2008. Investment: $350 includes a parent workshop to explain the techniques so you can follow them up at home.
TELL YOUR TEACHER! Training for this course will commence in Term 1, 2008. We hope ALL schools will integrate these techniques into their curriculum. Our children deserve a calmer, more peaceful world and the CALM course will give them the tools to create this.

Gifted and Talented Children We offer specific help for gifted and talented children. Our assessments pinpoint strengths and provide valuable information for parents and teachers who need to provide an enriched, challenging program for these children.

These sessions are fun, interactive and will challenge and arouse the curiosity of your 4-6 year old. Literacy skills, numeracy and problem solving, and whole brain learning activities will be covered. There will be a creative component to develop your child's art ability.

Transition To from Year 7 to Year 8
This four week programme will help your child to make a smooth and successful transition from Year 7 to Year 8.
It will teach your child how to:

- learn a little of the more difficult Year 8 maths concepts in a supportive, non-threatening environment.

Educational Assessments for Children
Educational assessments are recommended for children with learning difficulties, or for children who need to have their educational levels and strengths and weaknesses determined in order for effective teaching programmes to be drawn up.
The Assessment process involves the child working alone with the assessor for a period of time which is followed immediately by a meeting between the assessor and the parents. At this meeting further information is gathered from the parents and the learning plan is created. We have two levels of Assessment. The Full Assessment is more in depth and has a detailed written report, while the shorter Assessment is given to the parents verbally in the meeting following the assessment.

Accelerated Learning and Study Skills Course
STUDY SKILLS ENSURE SUCCESS! We are seeing an alarmingly high number of students who lack any knowledge of STUDY SKILLS.
They are unable to determine main ideas, summarise or write coherent essays. Poor time management and inability to organise themselves are also factors that contribute to low marks and poor self esteem. Unfortunately these students are set to fail their exams even when they work hard and have some real ability in their subject areas.
